Abstract

Česká republika jako členský stát Evropské unie, pozitiva a negativa členství

Cílem diplomové práce je, na základě analýzy charakterizovat a zhodnotit klíčové aspekty členství České republiky v Evropské unii od jejího vstupu. V rámci diplomové práce je rovněž formulována následující hypotéza: Největší přínosy členství České republiky v Evropské unii plynou z finančních prostředků Evropských strukturálních a investičních fondů, které byly České republice alokovány v rámci členství v unii od roku 2004 do současnosti.

Diplomová práce je členěna do tří hlavních kapitol, doplněných o úvod a závěr. První kapitola je zaměřena na proces rozšiřování Evropské unie. Dále jsou v této kapitole definovány počátky evropské integrace a její vývoj až po současný stav integrovanosti členských zemí včetně popisu jejich přístupového procesu. V závěru kapitoly je pak zmíněn výčet potencionálních a kandidátských zemí, o které by se v budoucnu mohla Evropská unie rozšířit. Druhá kapitola charakterizuje především problematiku přistoupení České republiky k Evropské unii. Jednotlivé etapy vývoje prohlubování vztahů mezi Českou republikou a Evropskou unii jsou popsány v obecných rovinách, jakými byly např. vztahy Československa a Evropských společenství do roku 1989, změny v domácí politice v letech 1989-1992, vztah České republiky a Evropské unie v letech 1992-1998 a v neposlední řadě průběh negociačních vyjednávání od roku 1998 do přistoupení České republiky k Evropské unii v roce 2004. Třetí hlavní kapitola je zaměřena na praktické hodnocení klíčových aspektů členství České republiky v Evropské unii, které jsou dále rozděleny na aspekty politické a právní na straně jedné a aspekty ekonomické na straně druhé. V rámci ekonomických aspektů členství je pozornost věnována vybraným makroekonomickým veličinám České republiky z období před a po vstupu do Evropské unie. Závěr poslední kapitoly je zaměřen rovněž i na negativní aspekty členství, kde je charakterizována ztráta národní suverenity České republiky a vztah občanů České republiky k Evropské unii.

The Czech Republic as a Member State of the European Union, the Positives and Negatives of Membership

The aim of the diploma thesis is to characterize and evaluate the key aspects of the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union from its entry based on the analysis.

The following hypothesis is also formulated in the diploma thesis: The biggest benefits of the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union stem from the financial resources of the European Structural and Investment Funds, which were allocated to the Czech Republic as a member of the Union from 2004 to the present.

The diploma thesis is divided into three main chapters, supplemented by introduction and conclusion. The first chapter focuses on the process of enlargement of the European Union. Furthermore, this chapter defines the beginnings of European integration and its development up to the present state of integration of member countries, including a description of their accession process. At the end of the chapter, the list of potential and candidate countries, which the European Union could expand in the future, is mentioned. The second chapter mainly describes the issue of the Czech Republic's accession to the European Union. The individual stages of the development of deepening relations between the Czech Republic and the European Union are described in general levels, such as relations between Czechoslovakia and the European Communities until 1989, changes in domestic politics in 1989-1992, the relationship between the Czech Republic and the European Union in 1992- 1998 and, last but not least, the course of negotiating negotiations from 1998 until the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union in 2004. The third main chapter is focused on the practical evaluation of key aspects of the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union, which are further divided into political and legal aspects and economic aspects on the other. Within the economic aspects of membership, attention is paid to selected macroeconomic variables of the Czech Republic from the period before and after joining the European Union. The conclusion of the last chapter is also focused on the negative aspects of membership, where the loss of national sovereignty of the Czech Republic and the relationship of citizens of the Czech Republic to the European Union are characterized.
