Abstract

The thesis deals with the feasibility of assembling a new part on an existing automated production line. First, the current process of assembly, inspection, sealing and product marking is described both manually and automated. Next, it was deemed necessary to simplify the 3D model of the workstation to a level that could be worked with in ABB RobotStudio simulation software. It was then verified that it was feasible to assemble the new part on the existing line. From this, it was determined what modifications to the production line would need to be made. Finally, a simulation of the assembly process of the new product was created.
