Abstract

The aim of this thesis is a deeper familiarity with the various types of pumps, especially their structures, properties and parameters. First, we focus on the separation of pumps according to the type of energy transformation, on the hydrodynamic and hydrostatic. Further, we will state the most important pumps used in primary and secondary circuit of nuclear power plants and also pumps which are used for emergency systems, including a description of individual systems. In conclusion, we will design a specific compute for the pump which will be used in designing a suitable pump system for cooling the pool of spent nuclear fuel.
