Český čokoládovnický průmysl a jeho privatizace na příkladu firmy Nestlé

Abstract

This diploma thesis describes historical and modern development of the Czechoslovak and then Czech chocolate industry on the example of Nestlé. The main attention is dedicated to the Czech chocolate industry and the Nestlé company. The company entered the Czech chocolate industry as a strategic investor within the privatization in the early 1990s. The first chapter deals with introduction, main aim, dimension, methods and the structure of the thesis. The second chapter summarizes economic development of the Nestlé company including its operating on the Czechoslovak/Czech market. The third chapter describes the development of the Czechoslovak/Czech chocolate industry since its foundation up until its current state. A special attention is dedicated to the nationalization in 1948 and the denationalization after 1989 which represent important historical milestones. The interpretation of the Czech chocolate industry nationalization is deepened in the fourth chapter. The chapter deals with the description of the historical context, legal framework and the process of privatization. Obtained knowledge together with subjective evaluation of the privatization results are summarized in the last chapter.
