Úvodem diplomové práce je urbánní analýza Valašského Meziříčí, které v éře socialismu utrpělo značnými necitlivými zásahy do své struktury, a to zejména v těsné blízkosti historického jádra. Výsledkem analýz je koncepce zhuštění a uzavření těchto obnažených prostorů, které dřívější zásahy poškodily především z hlediska jasného vymezení uličních front, narušily koncentrovanost zástavby, nevhodným způsobem otevřely pohledové osy a způsobily necitlivý přechod mezi historickou strukturou a hromadnou bytovou zástavbou. Cílem práce je nejen podpořit historický obraz města a jeho atraktivitu, ale i reagovat na jeho nynější potřeby. Podrobněji se pak dále zabývám architektonickou studií jednoho z nejzásadnějších vytipovaných míst. Valašské meziříčí je mimo jiné spojováno s řekou Bečvou, která protéká středem města. Její břehy mají potenciál stát se atraktivním veřejným prostorem – tento potenciál však není doposud plně využit. V rámci své diplomové práce pak řeším místo u řeky, které je důležité nejen pro svou lukrativní polohu na nábřeží ale i pro svou blízkost a návaznost na kulturní centrum města. Na nábřeží mezi řekou Bečvou a areálem zámku Žerotínu tvořím kulturně společenské centrum, topograficky propojuji výškově rozdílné části města, definuji prostor nábřeží a vytvářím atraktivní místo pro rekreaci v blízkosti řeky.

Densification of historical core of Valašské Meziříčí – House on the waterfront The introduction of diploma thesis is the urbanistic analysis of Valašské Meziříčí, whose structure was significantly changed and disrupted in socialism, especially near the historic core. The result of the analysis is to increase density and closure of these open and disrupted spaces, which have previously been damaged primarily in terms of definition of street fronts, disrupted the concentration of the buildings, inappropriately opened viewpoints and caused an unresponsive transition between the historical structure and the collective housing. The aim of the thesis is not only to support the historical image of the city and it’s atractivity, but also to respond to its current needs. I then deal in detail with an architectural study of one of the most important places. Valašské Meziříčí is inter alia connected with the river Bečva, which flows through the center of the town. Its riverside have the potential to become an attractive public space - however, this potential is not yet fully utilized. In conclusion of diploma thesis I deal with place near the river, which is important not only for its lucrative location on the waterfront, but also for its proximity to the cultural center of the town. The result of my work is cultural and social center on the waterfront between the Bečva River and the Žerotín castle area, topographical interconnection of parts of the town, defining waterfront in this place and creating an attractive place for recreation near the river.
