Brainstorming – bronzový odlitek lidského mozku

Abstract

Bakalářská práce pojednává o výrobě stylizovaného bronzového odlitku lidského mozku v reálném měřítku. V teoretické části práce jsou s ohledem na zvolené téma řešeny zejména oblasti anatomie a patologie lidského mozku, a dále fungování lidské mysli. Mimo tuto problematiku je rešerše zaměřena rovněž na figurální umění a anatomické zobrazování lidského těla v průběhu dějin umění od pravěku až po současnost. V praktické části je pak podrobně shrnut samotný postup výroby odlitku od návrhu až po finální opracování. Jednotlivé kapitoly popisují dílčí kroky a zvolené metody včetně používaných materiálů a technologií. Nejprve je pozornost věnována sochařským metodám a technikám při výrobě hliněného modelu, vrstvené silikonové formy a pryskyřicového modelu. Dále je řešena samotná technologie výroby odlitku metodou odlévání bronzu do jednorázové pískové formy s použitím pískového jádra ze samotuhnoucí furanové směsi. V závěrečné části jsou pak nastíněny možnosti dokončovacích prací a povrchové úpravy finálního odlitku.

The bachelor thesis deals with the production of a stylized bronze casting of a human brain in real scale. In the theoretical part of the thesis, with regard to the chosen topic, the areas of anatomy and pathology of the human brain, as well as the functioning of the human mind are addressed. Apart from these issues, the research also focuses on figurative art and anatomical representations of the human body throughout the history of art from prehistoric times to the present. In the practical part, the actual process of making a casting is summarized in detail, from design to final processing. The individual chapters describe the sub-steps and methods chosen, including the materials and technologies used. First, attention is given to the sculptural methods and techniques involved in the production of the clay model, the layered silicone mould and the resin pattern. Next, the actual technology of producing the casting by casting bronze into a disposable sand mould using a sand core made from a self-setting furan mixture is discussed. The final part outlines the possibilities of finishing and surface treatment of the final casting.
