The industrial evolution, marked by various revolutions, has now evolved to Industry 4.0, which is distinguished by the interconnectedness of cloud computing, big data, and the industrial Internet of Things. Industry 4.0, often known as the fourth industrial revolution, enables real-time processing and dissemination of information, mostly through smart factories. This article discusses the critical deployment of Industry 4.0 in India's manufacturing industry. Despite the enormous benefits it delivers to supply chains, there is an urgent need to promote its successful application. This study not only explores the issues confronting Indian manufacturing businesses, but it also assesses their preparation for Industry 4.0. This article intends to provide significant insights for policymakers, businessmen, and researchers on the path to successfully implementing Industry 4.0 in India by analyzing preparedness and potential impediments. Through a comprehensive examination of many manufacturing industries, the paper identifies specific challenges and presents ways for overcoming them, thereby contributing to India's industrial growth and global competitiveness.en
