Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na dopady pořádání Mistrovství světa v ledním hokeji 2024 na město Ostrava, se specifickým důrazem na aspekty turismu a valorizaci místního industriálního dědictví. Práce představuje komplexní pohled na to, jak mohou velké sportovní události přispět k ekonomickému a sociálnímu rozvoji hostitelského města, zvyšovat jeho atraktivitu pro návštěvníky a podporovat místní kulturu a identitu.

V první části se práce věnuje geografickému, historickému a sociálně-ekonomickému kontextu Ostravy, aby poskytla ucelený rámec pro pochopení významu mistrovství pro region. Následuje podrobný popis vybraných industriálních památek a kulturních atrakcí, které jsou v rámci mistrovství prezentovány jako turistické cíle. Autor se dále zabývá historií a organizací mistrovství, jeho ekonomickými a sociálními dopady na Ostravu a přínosy pro městský turismus.

Práce přináší ucelený náhled na potenciál spojení sportu, turismu a kultury v kontextu velkých mezinárodních událostí a zdůrazňuje význam pečlivé přípravy, komplexního plánování a zapojení komunity pro maximalizaci pozitivních dopadů na hostitelské město.

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the impact of hosting the Ice Hockey World Championship 2024 on the city of Ostrava, with a specific emphasis on aspects of tourism and the valorization of local industrial heritage. The thesis presents a comprehensive view on how large sports events can contribute to the economic and social development of the host city, increase its attractiveness for visitors, and support local culture and identity.
