dc.description.abstract | The objective of geophysical exploration was to find out whether the marked morphological elevation of circular shape (130 m in diameter, 20 m high) is a natural geological structure or a man-made ancient burial mound. The anthropogenic nature is supported by numerous archaeological findings in its environs. Nevertheless, a range of applied geophysical methods (gravimetry, shallow refraction seismic and multielectrode resistivity profiling) proved natural origin of the elevation resulting from selective weathering of more resistant horizon of silicified sandstones of the Kosov Formation as compared with much softer shale of the Králův Dvůr Formation. | |
