Studium polarizační módové disperze

Abstract

Táto práca sa zaoberá polarizačnou módovou disperziou (PMD) a jej vplyvmi na prenos optického signálu optickými vláknami. Na začiatku práce je popísaný pojem disperzia v optických vláknach, ako taký s osobitným zameraním na polarizačnú módovú disperziu. Ďalej sú v práci popísané príčiny vzniku polarizačnej módovej disperzie, jej vplyvy na prenášaný signál a možnosti jej potlačenia. V nasledujúcich kapitolách sú popísané možnosti merania PMD. Posledná časť práce je venovaná samotnému praktickému meraniu PMD v optických vláknach, vyhodnoteniu nameraných výsledkov a ich porovnaniu s technickými normami.

This work deals with the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and its effects on the optical signal distribution in optical fibers. At the beginning of the work the term dispersion in optical fibers itself is described and, with particular focus on the polarization mode dispersion. Next, the causes of the polarization modes of dispersion, its effects on the transmitted signal and the possibilities its suppression are described. The following sections describe the options of PMD measurements. The last part is devoted to the practical measuring of PMD in optical fibers, the evaluation of the measurement results and their comparison with the standards.
