Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the employees satisfaction with the motivational program in selected mining companies and companies in chemical and electric power industry. The findings are based on survey of employees focused on motivational programs in selected companies. Mathematical and statistical methods are applied to establish hypothesis and determine which company has the best motivated employees. The first part of this thesis deals with the motivation of employees and all methods used based on theoretical basics and literary research. Her eis explained the concept of employees motivation, characteristics and its importance for the company and description of mathematical and statistical methods. For practical part of the thesis, there are described basic initial assumptions for calculations, which are needed to achieve the objectives of this thesis. The second part of the thesis briefly characterizes the selected companies. The subsidiaries of Severočeské doly, a.s., PRODECO, a.s. and REVITRANS, a.s. Furthermore, the company UNIPETROL RPA, s.r.o. and Elektrárna Počerady, a.s. In this part is described the ownership and organizational structur, and the basic economic characteristics of the selected companies. To verify the established hypothesis, a database is created, which is based on the nuber of employees and the net profit per one employee of the company for observed period of time. The observed period was five years. The third part deals with the presentation of the research results, which took place in the form of a survey. There is a direct evaulation of companies based on employees satisfaction with the motivational program. Mathematical-statistical methods are used to verify the established hypthesis and the related determination of the final order of the selected companies: the method of simple sum of the order, the method of simple share, the method of standardized variable and the scoring method. The Saaty’s method is used to determine weights. In this part of the word, a Spider analysis is created to show the results of the survey in graphical form. Pearson’s correlation coefficient is applied to verify the hypothesis. In the fourth part of work, based on the data obtained from the research, recommendations are made to the researched companies. At the end of the diploma thesis, the finding obtained during the stude and elaboration of this topic and the final evaulation of the research results of the degree of employees satisfaction whith the motivational program of selected companies are summarized. The surveys revealed that the most satisfied employees of the surveyed companies are in the company REVITRANS, a.s. on the contrary, the employees of PRODECO, a.s. are least satisfied. In the end, decisions are also made to accept or reject the hypothesis, which is set out in the second part of the thesis.
