dc.description.abstract | Bending a V-belt on the arc of contact is connected with deformation of the side surface of a belt that leads to a number of undesirable effects. In this work an attempt has been made to modify the side surface of the V-belt using numerical methods, nonlinear theory of elasticity and optimizing procedures. The problem was solved using the computer system ANSYS 5.7. As a result, some modified profiles were proposed. On the one hand those new profiles decrease stress of the belt; on the other hand improve the working conditions between belt and pulley. | |
