Abstract

The bachelor thesis titled „Transformation of the torch over the time“ describes the history and development of a torch. The aim of this thesis is to create an artistic cast of the torch according to the own design which is based on the shape of leaves of laurel wreath representing a symbol of victory, using a combination of wood and chosen metal. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part looks primarily at fire, torches and their important historical significance. The practical part of this thesis describes the manufacturing of the torch itself, from the design and making of the model through the production of the mould to the final cast and its surface working and polishing.
