Abstract

This thesis deals with resonance and mode shapes of induction machines. The theoretical part of the thesis firstly deals with a general description of oscillation and resonance. Secondly, it describes resonance specifically in induction machines and contemplates the possibilities of analytical and numerical calculation of the natural frequencies of the stator stack of induction machine. The following part of the thesis deals with the description of the radial forces generated in the magnetic circuit of induction machine with sinusoidal supply voltage, where the most important part of the chapter are relations for calculating the frequencies and orders of individual forces. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes the problematics of experimental modal analysis focusing on the necessary equipment and principles, which must be followed during measurement. The theory is followed by the practical part, the main aim of which was an experimental modal analysis of several stator stacks in order to determine the effect of winding and impregnation on natural frequencies. This is followed by a modal analysis using the finite element method in Ansys Workbench software. All results obtained by measurement, simulation and analytical calculation are evaluated at the end of the thesis.
