Abstract

The aim of this work is to examine properties of material Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and create light guides of specific dimensions to measure and evaluate these properties. Like absorption, thermal optical stability, attenuation dependence on bending, spectral dependence when the light passes through this polymer. Evaluate these optical properties during these stressmeasurements. Next step is to, make a light guide with a luminophore layer at its end to convert the blue LED source to the white output and evaluate the attenuation, color composition, and chromaticity temperature. For this measuring is needed power LEDs, an integration sphere to measure all the optical parameters and properties of the above mentioned ones. Then, the Thorlabs kit for fasteners of all elements required for measurement, PDMS material with the appropriate hardener, laboratory glass and handling tools for manipulation with PDMS and power supply and GL Spectrosoft software.
