Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on preparation of nanoparticles based on copper oxide and copper oxide/vermiculite, which have been used as nanofillers in thin film synthesis of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). Nanoparticles have been prepared by sonochemical synthetic method, where polyvinyl acetate thin films have been synthetized via in situ. Polyvinyl acetate is commonly used in food processing and medicine. Certain properties of copper oxide could broaden the application spectra of polyvinyl acetate. Nanoparticles have been characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-Ray diffraction and particle size distribution. Polyvinyl acetate films have been described by optical microscopy, confocal microscopy and infrared spectroscopy.
