Abstract
The main concern of this thesis is the study the problems of biology and ecology of the Day Butterflies and daily familiarity with their methods of study with ties to the mining landscape of the Moravian-Silesia region. The mining landscape aroused out of the economic activity in the mining industry has very negative impact into the landscape function. The coal mining has devastation effects on nature and significantly changes the landscape character and living condition of organisms in it.
Significant chapters of this thesis describe the threat and shortage reasons of the Day Butterflies in this landscape and their protection and the possibility of using this group of insects as bioindicators.
