Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deal with the degradation mechanism of steel in environment of hydrogen sulfide which is called hydrogen induced cracking. It treat about very serious issue, as it relates to industrial sector, mining industry, transport, storage and refining of oil. The experiment was carried out at X 65 micro alloyed steel API 5L, which is used for pipe welding of pipelines. Evaluation of resistance to hydrogen induced cracking was carried out by ultrasonic immersion method and metallographically, based on established parameters cracks CLR, CTR and CSR.
