Abstract

The carousel furnace is designed for heat treatment of the material. The aim of this diploma thesis is to develop a project which will address the modernization of the system of measurement and control of the heating of the carousel furnace. This project will then be used for the planned repair of the carousel furnace. An analysis of the current state will be made, pointing to shortcomings. In particular, support and lack of spare parts of the existing control system, replacement of all wiring and unsuitable burner monitoring and control system are necessary. On the basis of a functional analysis of the heating system, a proposal will be made to remedy these deficiencies, based on the installation of a new control system with distribution units. The design, implementation and verification of the functionality of the control application will be realized within the solution. Since there will be no hardware configuration of the new control system, testing and validation of the control application functionality will be accomplished using the PLC simulator.
