Abstract

In the work are introduced the basics of the numerical solution of the Navier–Stokes equations using the finite element methods. For domain discretization is using the mixed finite element methods by means of Q2-Q1 elements, where the stability was verified. In the numerical solution of the Navier–Stokes equations was used Stokes equations, which is a linearized case. After that we use a Picard and Newton iteration for the solving of the Navier–Stokes equations.
