Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis examines user behavior and the role users play in banking fraud. The aim of this thesis was to identify the most common risky behaviors among users of online banking and to analyze the correlations found between actual behavior, users’ security awareness, and demographic factors. Based on a literature review, the theoretical section describes manipulative attack techniques and a detailed typology of banking fraud. The practical section of the thesis is based on quantitative research, specifically a questionnaire survey involving 238 respondents who actively use online banking. Descriptive statistical methods were used to evaluate the responses, and the identified correlations were analyzed using cross-tabulation. The results reveal a discrepancy between users’ actual behavior and their stated security awareness, and these findings can serve as a basis for government and private institutions involved in cybersecurity.
