Abstract

The issue of this thesis deals with an evaluation of public administration reform in the Czech Republic after 1989. The first part of the thesis summarises a development of systems of public administration in the Czechoslovakia since 1918 till 1989. Subsequently the thesis presents a target of the public administration reform after the Velvet revolution and it compares possible models of the public administration. Next part of the thesis aims for particular stages of the public administration reform and a central state administration reform. Further the thesis describes a regional division of the public administration in the Czech Republic after the reform. It names competences of regional authorities and municipal offices in the sphere of state administration and self administration. In the end the author points out weaknesses of public administration reform.
