Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the environmental impact of the incineration of plastic waste in domestic boilers. Despite the ban on the co-combustion of standard energy fuels with plastic waste, many households still resort to this practice for economic reasons. The diploma thesis focuses on the identification of unauthorised co-combustion of plastics (polyethene terephthalate, polyethylene, polypropylene) with wood in local heating boilers. The results show that the combustion of plastics leaves characteristic traces in the deposits on the boiler walls, which can be identified by pyrolysis gas chromatography with mass detection. Some of the organic markers detected are harmful to the environment and pose a potential risk to human health.
