Abstract
The beginnings of "mining" - mining of minerals in our territory range from the Lower Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age, when a quartzite was extracted near Most (in the Czech Republic between 2000 and 800 BC) in Europe, the beginnings of mining go far in the past. until the 6th millennium BC, when clay and earth for the production of ceramics were mined.
An area closely related to mining activity is mining. Mining Measuring is a doctrine which deals with the measurement and display of underground works, mining areas, where their spatial relations with the Earth's surface are determined, as well as mining activities and some activities that are carried out in a mining manner.
The introduction of the dissertation is devoted to the history and development of mining and mining meter profession. Another part is devoted to historical mining maps in Austria, Bohemia, Poland, Slovakia and Prussia. Historical mining maps are among the treasures of the past, and are, from today's point of view, often classified as works of art, while at the time they were the most sophisticated technical and scientific documents used to record ownership and to carry out practical mining activities. They are "accurate" with regard to the time they were created.
The second part of the dissertation deals with the creation of spatial models from mine maps in the affordable and cost-less Carlson software. There is described in detail the creation of specific spatial models and I point out possible trends of using historical mining maps in current mining practice, respectively related fields (eg landscape conservation, etc.) in order to appreciate and preserve the work of past mining meters for present and future generations.
The creation of spatial models of mine works has a wide range of uses. The constructed mining areas in conjunction with the surface can be used by mining institutions to show the mutual relationship between mining and surface objects or they can be used for the implementation and planning of reclamation. An additional and desirable use of spatial models is that the created model can be used in current, new and modern technologies, and that is the Building Information Modelling.
