Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the High Pressure Die Casting of Al-Si-Cu-based alloys for the automotive industry. A complete production center of the High Pressure Die Casting Machine, including steel molds, is presented here. Attention is focused on the vacuum systems and their connection to the vacuum channel of the mold. Vacuuming the mold cavity can eliminate certain defects of the castings, which are specified individually in this work. The practical experiment took place on the working side of the foundry and its output is the exact values of the vacuum inside the mold cavity, where there is a liquid metal during standard production.
