Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to deal with redundancy protocols used to achieve high availability in network enviroment. I will analyse and illustrate possibilities of VRRP and HSRP protocols, design and create a model of the network enviroment with Cisco routers. The network model simulates failure of one of the main routers and measures delays for each protocol after switching to backup device. Results are then analysed and compared.
