Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with monitoring the effectiveness of remediation methods in decontamination of groundwater contaminated with chlorinated ethenes using ecotoxicity tests. The theoretical part I describe the characteristics of chlorinated ethenes, the applicable legislation for the remediation technologies, the characteristics of the two selected localities and of the used remediation technologies. In the experimental part I evaluate the effectiveness of the decontamination at selected locations and of the chlorinated ethenes removal, based on the obtained data of chemical analysis. Own contribution of the thesis is the fifty two ecotoxicity tests implementation on eight groundwater samples from selected wells during the area decontamination. Ecotoxicity tests are conducted on Daphnia magna, Vibrio fischeri, lettuce, green algae and wheat.
