Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis examines bioleaching as a technology for the recovery of metals from secondary sources within the framework of the circular economy. The main objective of the thesis is to assess the applicability of selected methods for evaluating the environmental impacts and sustainability of bioleaching. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the concept of the circular economy and its fundamental principles and discusses the relevance of this approach for contemporary technological practice. The practical part is based on experimental data obtained from the bioleaching of metals from waste mobile LCD screens and focuses on the application of the selected assessment methods. To ensure a systematic evaluation, a framework of assessment criteria aligned with the principles of the circular economy is proposed. The outcome of the thesis is the identification of the strengths and limitations of the individual assessment methods and the clarification of their roles in evaluating bioleaching with respect to circularity and efficient resource management.
