Abstract

The present thesis is focused on the area in White Carphatians/Bile Karpaty, namely of its the highest peak Velka Javorina, which is lying on the border of the Czech and Slovak republic. Velka Javorina has been a symbol of brotherhood between Czechs and Slovaks and place of regular meetings of both nations for many years. In thesis there are described gelogical, hydrological and climatic conditions about Velka Javorina and selected nature reserves as well. Places of interest include as major cities such as Nove Mesto nad Vahom and Uhersky Brod so number of small villages with typical folk architecture. In thesis there is also mention of the castle ruins and interesting locations, both on the Czech side, and on the Slovak side. Part of the thesis is the drafting of several trails for hiking and for cycling, running down the most interesting places and redound to the promotion of the area.
