Abstract

The main target of this thesis is to realise comparative analysis of the 1930s economic crisis and contemporary economic crisis based on the determination of causes and consequences of both crises.

The theoretical part introduces characteristic of the economic crisis generally which is focused on the definition of financial markets and financial crises.

The practical part describes the possible causes of both crises. Then it analyzes the effects of both crises through the development of selected economic indicators in the U.S. and Europe. The conclusion of this part sums up all facts and estimates the future economic development.
