Abstract
Lithium batteries are being dynamically developed and researched, thanks to the growing interest in more efficient energy storage and a more environmentally friendly approach. Since the beginning of their invention, new materials have been searched and developed to provide greater performance and safety. Various materials and manufacturing technologies are used in their production. Due to the issue of recycling and the possibility of recovering materials from waste lithium, decomposition and analysis of battery components were performed. This showed the presence of many elements and significant differences in the composition of individual batteries, which proves to be very negative for finding and practical use of a technologically feasible and economically manageable recycling process.
