Abstract

As a goal of this diploma thesis I will try to analyze the problematic of relationship between Northern African countries and the European Union. In my first chapter I show the history of the relationship between Northern African countries and their colonial powers from middle age till nowadays. I also solve in this chapter the economical and political development of Northern African countries and their interest to cooperate with Europe. The next chapter is about the economical and political system in each country of North Africa. I try to find economic and other motives why these countries cooperate with Europe and how they want to build cooperation and what they expect from it. In my last chapter I map the current history of the relationship between Europe and countries from North Africa from gaining their independences in the sixties until now.
