Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of the presence of pharmaceutical substances in the aquatic environment, with a focus on the hormonally active substances desogestrel and ethinylestradiol. The theoretical section summarizes their physicochemical properties, behavior in the aquatic environment, and methods for their analytical determination, primarily using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), including an overview of sample pretreatment methods.
The experimental section focuses on optimizing and validating the conditions for the determination of selected substances using HPLC at the level of standard solutions. Based on the measured data, calibration curves were constructed and basic validation parameters were determined, particularly the limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ).
The results obtained show that the proposed analytical procedure is suitable for the determination of the target substances in standard solutions and provides a basis for its further application to real water samples.
