Abstract
This diploma theses dissert upon using programmable logic controllers in technique of electrical drives. There are explained all relevant information and terms, in following parts of this theses, which are nessesary to understand the issues of programmeble logic controllers and communication via PROFIBUS. The usage is demostrated in combination of Siemens AG Simatic S7 PLC and frequency converter from the SEW-EURODRIVE company. The control of the converter is established by a PROFIBUS. PROFIBUS is a type of bus which is used in modern industrial solution.
