Abstract
The analysis of the problem of the use of bulk wastes from metallurgical and energy industry is solved in dissertation. The work deal with the preparation of an alkali activated materials based on a secondary raw material called like blast furnace slag, which forms as a by-product in the pig iron production. The main topic of work is the study of the influence of chosen nucleating agents and admixtures on a hydration process in alkali activated materials. The work is separated into the two main parts, where the first one focuses on possibilities of structure modification of alkali activated materials by the two types and sizes of nucleating agents (C-S-H phases and aerated concrete). The second part is attended to possibility of the creation of a geopolymer structure by the admixture with sufficient Al2O3 content. The fly ash is that admixture.
The effect of nucleating agents and admixtures on the structure of an alkali activated materials is initially evaluated by the two basic parameters, which are a bulk density and a compressive strength. Next properties, which were determined belong these, which are standardly investigated in this field. For their study were used methods of XRF diffraction, combined with thermal analyses DTA and TG, electron microscopy and isothermal calorimetry. Additionally, the behaviour of a hydrating system was observed by measuring of pH and porosity of material by the method of mercury porosimetry. Thermal stability was studied at all materials.
