Abstract

This diploma thesis contains a general characteristics and the history of sport hooliganism, its meaning and the danger it represents for the society as a whole. Further, it includes a detailed description of the Czech Republic law governing the issue of sport hooliganism. The author defines sport hooliganism as an element which is a burden on the society. Simultaneously, the point is made that this phenomenon is not exclusively tied to our contemporary era, but is present throughout the entire history of mankind and specific historical examples are listed. A detailed analyses of the CR legal framework was carried out as the key output of this bachelor’s paper. It, as the author points out, could lead to minimizing/preventing this phenomenon. Similarly, all the potential legal measures binding for the sports fans are defined. These measures are also important for the sporting event organizers, city police forces but also common people in terms of providing the legal force to neutralize the phenomenon of sport hooliganism. The concluding chapters are devoted to another key issue: the possibility to identify individual hooligans so that the aforementioned measures could be applied. The paper as a whole provides a comprehensive overview of the causes, history and the current problems concerning sport hooliganism and defines the possibilities and ways in which individual hooligans may be identified via camera systems (CCTV) and biometrics and the potential disciplinary actions against them which can be applied in the Czech Republic.
