Abstract
Mobile commerce, which is also known as commercial data content services delivered to mobile phones or similar devices, is gaining increasing acceptance and developing rapidly concurrently with the dissemination of broadband mobile networks and with the increasing development of mobile communication technology. What only a few years back to the past was limited to a simple serv¬ices such as ring tones, wallpapers, weather forecasts, short news services, games, has now expanded to in¬clude a broad variety of highly advanced multimedia services.
The overall aim of this paper is to examine the popularity of mobile usage in the Czech Republic and compare the situation within the United Kingdom area. From the results focused on popularity of purchases and access to information through this devices, it is evident that m-commerce is gaining an importance and becoming a shopping assistant when speaking about buying and selling goods and services. This new possibilities should be adapted by businesses if they are willing to provide their customer with valuable services. This paper can be as well used by the future researchers if they will try to conduct research within these two countries or compare different areas with considering the differences in evolving new technologies.
