The purpose of this diploma paper is to gather and assort theoretical findings relating to employee development and education and compare them with employee development and education system used in Tesco Stores. First, the general valuations of the current level of educational activities are stated. Then the particular suggestions and recommendations for optimization of the company´s education and employee development in Tesco Stores follow.
The paper is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter the chain store Tesco Stores is introduced as a whole. The second chapter is focused on education and development of human resources from a theoretical point of view. The third chapter describes and valuates the form of education used in the chain store. The fourth chapter summarize the suggestions and recommendations how to improve and fortify current process of educational activities.
The theoretical part is based on a method of compilation of articles from special literature. The practical part appears from the author´s own experience and brainstorming at the workplace and results in creating SWOT analysis. Suggestions and recommendations coming from the analysis lead to the improvement of internal training process, elimination of threats realised in the SWOT analysis and the usage of new opportunities such as utilization of EU grants within operational program Human Resources and employment, or creating the own educational program “Let´s learn from each other!”.
