Abstract

Bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibility of improving the quality grades of steel cord. There is a characteristic of steel cord, their distribution and potential applications in the first part. There is also a brief description of production technology and the influence of various chemical elements on steel properties. The next section describes the most common methods to help increase the quality of continuously cast billets and blocks. It is a method of soft-reduction and electromagnetic stirring. The last part represents the core of the work involved in the analysis of literary references. These links are focused on running experiments on the block and billet CCM during casting of steel cord (i.e. high-carbon steel). At the end, an operational summary of the results of experiments aimed at improving the quality grades of steel cord is made.
