Abstract

Thesis is focused on trade integration of the European Union and the United States of America. The main objective is to evaluate impact of trade policy on the foreign trade of the European Union and United States of America, to analyse mutual trade relations. Attention is focused on the characteristic of territorial and commodity structure of foreign trade, tariff policy, evaluation of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements and analysis of mutual trade exchange, Author prefers extra- EU trade, which is directed by collective trade policy. Thesis is divided into introduction, three thematic parts and conclusion. The second chapter deals with international trade policy. The chapter defines the difference between liberal and protectionist attitude to foreign-trade policy of the state, then it delas with specification of autonomous and contractual instruments and in the last part the chapter defines theit tariff policy, especially custom protection of agricultural and non-agricultural production. The chapter puts emphasis mainly on the analysis of bilateral and multilateral agreements in EU and USA and the last part of the chapter is maping mutual historical trade relations. The fourth chapter defines in detail the structure of territorial and commodity trade of EU and USA and their mutual comparison. Another part of the chapter deals with analysis of foreign direct investments. At the end of this chapter there is an analysis of mutual trade exchange and potential future trade cooperation. The EU and the USA are the most significant participants of global trade and for many other countries thez are the biggest trading partners. Their mutual present and future trade exchange has a strong influence on the global economics.
