Abstract

This bachelor work is about the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty. First describes the founding treaties and other important agreements, which form the European Union. It also describes the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe, which should replace the existing contract and the reasons for its rejection of the ratification process. The Lisbon Treaty is describes from the first discussions, through the ratification process until its implemented during the current chairman of the trio of Spain, Belgium and Hungary. Lisbon Treaty created two new positions: the President of the European Council and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The last part of this work deals with the revision of the Lisbon Treaty, which refers to the number of MEPs and the establishment of the European stabilization mechanism. The creation of the European stabilization mechanism is one of the main current priorities of the European Union. Lisbon Treaty contributes to a more productive and efficient operation of the European Union.
