Abstract

This bachelor thesis dedicates itself to the topic of a light panel with a serial port. The aim of the thesis is to create a light panel that is made of matrix LED modules. This panel is operated by a processor and the communication with a control computer is achieved by a serial link RS-232. The whole panel is working without help of the control computer, i. e. on the basis of the data stored in the processor’s memory. The thesis is divided into a hardware part and a programming part. The hardware part involves the selection of the appropriate processor, the creation of the electrical connection for the matrix LED modules and the PCB suggestions of both parts. The programming part includes the development of an independent control programme for the processor. In conclusion, the thesis contains experience with the prototype operation, achieved results and improvement suggestions.
