Abstract

The work is focused on flood protection in selected areas by dry polders. In the first part of this work is presented characteristic of flood protection including legislative point of view. There are also experiences from abroad. Attention is concetrated on the protective tanks, thein purpose, division and function. The sekond part describes locations of interest. It summarizes the materials and reasons for the design of dry polders. The final section outlines the measures necessary for the management after construction of polders.
