Abstract

This bachelor´s thesis deals with options of using hydrogen in laboratory operation. In the first chapter is described hydrogen in general as an element and there are listed the most important physico-chemical makings, production by various methods and options of using in different kind of industry. The second chapter is about hydrogen production by electrolysis of water, which is explained in theory at first and then was measured in laboratory of fue cells VŠB – TU Ostrava. In the third chapter are characterized basic types of fue cells which focus on fue cells type PEM. These fue cells use the hydrogen as a fuel for elektricity production, which was proved by laboratory measurements. The last part of this thesis is assesment of energy balance and from that resulting efficiency for hydrogen production and his following consumptions in fue cells.
