Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with changes in internal forces of a sheet pile wall. There is solved the question of the size and duration of these forces depending on changes in groundwater levels behind the back of sheeting structure. The introduction discusses the issue of pit sheeting, followed by a chapter dealing with design and technological solutions using sheet pile walls. There are analyzed different types of sheet piles, their use and implementation. Another chapter deals with an overview of different methods, which are used in static analysis. The main scope of work is the parametric study of the effect of fluctuations of groundwater level in the course of internal forces of sheet pile wall. In the illustrative example are applied two different approaches to the calculation. The first is carried out manually using the methods of limit states, while the second calculation is made using the software GEO 5 from Fine. In conclusion the obtained results are summarized, are compared and interpreted.
