Abstract

An overview of historical and current knowledge of pyrolysis technology about a coal processing is presented in introductory chapters of the diploma thesis. The utilisation of the pyrolysis technology is a today’s trend also for other materials processing, e.g. biomass, and for a various waste matter processing as well. Rubber waste, most of which are used tyres, is one of the most problematic waste matters today. Processing waste rubber can contribute to the further valuable improvements of waste material. Experimental activities were focused on the waste tyre rubber pyrolysis exactly defined with qualitative parameters i.e. on a thermal decomposition without air access. Tyre rubber thermal decomposition variants without and with an ozone degradation were compared. The experimental results are discussed and benefits of possible pyrolysis technology utilisation of waste rubber processing mainly into engine fuel are defined.
