Abstract

The aim of the master thesis is to evaluate the competitiveness of the company SFO Ltd. and compare the results of the financial analysis with its main competitors in the market. The Competitiveness is not only important in terms of economic, but also in terms of cultural, social or political. It shows the ability of companies, business sphere, regions and nations to create a high level of income and employment. It is based on the identification and utilization of competitive advantages. In this master thesis, it will be analyzed the company SFO Ltd., which headquarters is situated in Opava. The company operates on the market for more than 20 years and during this time it has gained the rich experience with production and assembly of various single-purpose machines. In the first part of this thesis it will be theoretical defined theoretical concepts such as competition, competitiveness and competitive advantage. In terms of strategic analysis, it will be used PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter's five forces analysis. The financial analysis describes various accounting documents that serve as a basis for the financial analysis. Subsequently, the indicators of profitability, activity, liquidity, leverage and labor productivity will be clarified. The following part deals practical use of the methods mentioned above. Firstly, there will be performed strategic analysis, then Finance analysis, where all indicators such as profitability, activity, liquidity, leverage and labor productivity will be calculated. In conclusion, there is created the SWOT analysis and according to this analysis, there is provided and designed the list of recommendations.
