Abstract

The bachelor thesis is focused on the influence of admixtures on the flash point of diesel fuel. The literary research was done on the topic of the storage hazards of flammable liquids and their mixtures, especially with a regard to the flammability of the mixture. The work presents examples of serious accidents associated with the storage of flammable liquids and describes their consequences. Within the bachelor´s thesis, there are results of quality controls of diesel fuel done by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority at petrol stations regard to stored flammable liquids. Furthermore, the issue of the minimum and maximum flash point of the mixture is described here. The practical part of the work describes the measurement of the flash point of a mixture of diesel fuel with selected flammable substances of various concentration by the method Pensky – Martens, closed cup method. At the end of the work, the evaluation of the influence of added substances on the safety of blend production compared to diesel fuel without additives was done.
