Abstract

This thesis focuses on using microfluidic devices in nanotechnology. The theoretical part deals with the most common types of microfluidics, different microfluidic devices and their applications in nanomedicine, nanomaterials synthesis, enzymatic reactors and biosensors. The aim of practical part was to perform a simple experiment of gold and zirconia nanoparticles synthesis with plant Equisetum arvense. Prepared nanoparticles were characterized by UV-VIS spectrophotometry, zeta potential and transmission electron microscopy. Finaly, a pilot experiment of microfluidic biosynthesis of metallic nanoparticles was designed to optimaze the process of biosynthesis and to control parameters influencing the size of nanoparticles.
