Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the potential qualitative and quantitative benefits of large excavators KU 800 after the end of their operational deployment. In the introductory and first part, I will focus on coal mining and its importance in the Czech Republic. I will then take a closer look at the technical description and development of the large excavators KU 800. In the second part, I will focus on a specific wheel excavator, where I will try to describe its technical development, history, and current state in as much detail as possible. In the third part, I will reflect on the aim of this work. I will outline the possible qualitative and quantitative benefits that retired large excavators KU 800 may have. In conclusion, I would like to summarize, evaluate, and assess the possible contributions of this work.
